Mimi is an adorable 11-year-old cat who has been looking for her forever home for almost a year.
When her previous owner passed away, she was taken along with her younger buddy Rocco to Sparkle Cat Rescue, an all-volunteer rescue in North Carolina.
At first, Mimi was a bit unsure and confused about her new surroundings.
But with some familiar things from her previous home, she quickly settled in and started seeking attention from people.
Even though her feline buddy Rocco preferred to keep to himself, Mimi transformed into a social butterfly and was eager to get petted and loved by anyone she met.
“She started exploring other rooms after a few months of being with us,” Sparkle Cat Rescue shared on social media.
“She is quite a little social butterfly and not shy with people. She is very sweet and attentive with humans.”
Every time a new human passed by, she would look at them with her big doe eyes, hoping that they would want her to become part of their family.
A few months passed and Mimi didn’t give up hope, she knew that the right person would eventually come along and take her to her forever home.
Occasionally, she had some litter box behavior issues, and the rescue believed this may have been putting off prospective families.
And then it happened!
After almost a year in foster care, a wonderful man named James came to meet Mimi, and it was love at first sight.
James took her home, and now Mimi is living her best life.
“We are so happy for Mimi and her adopter,” Sparkle Cat Rescue told Love Meow.
“She is doing fabulous at her new home. Her litter box issues have resolved now that she is the only kitty.”
She’s even made friends with a visiting dog named Suzie!
James dog sits every weekend and the two of them have become firm friends.
She’s even got her special place on the arm of James’ favorite chair.
Mimi is comfortable in her new home and is thriving with her loving human and furry companion.
